Australian NBA 2K13 Iphone/Ipad/Android Review
The 2012/13 NBA season is just around the corner, and to get you ready NBA2K13 has released their new apps for mobiles and tablets in Australia.
Thankfully unlike last year, you are able to buy the application and use them for multiple devices which gives you much more value for you 9 dollars.
The game runs smoothly on all devices this year, although there has been a few times playing on my iPhone where the game has crashed during a half-time break, but this is generally fixed for good with re-booting the application again.
Playing the game this year more fun and much easier on an iPad with the controls and court space being a lot easier to view and use.
Controls
NBA2K13 gives you two options of controls for this years gameplay.
The first option is to use a classic button layout where you have basic generic controls displayed on the screen or the option of the one finger control. This is where you use your index finger to shoot, pass, move, steal and block . This can be very tricky at times to execute what you want, but if you can perfect the controls the game seems to open up.
Personally I find the classic layout a lot easier to use although it limits you to minimal functions for the dribble.
Menus
The menu’s are easy to navigate, especially compared to the console versions and the music is just as good. You do miss a-lot of modes compared to the console version this year, but that’s what you expect when its under $10 dollars.
The in-game features are generally easy to navigate, I guess it depends on what device your playing the game on, you might have trouble sometimes subbing players or play-calls, but with the layout you have, it’s the best you will get.
Graphics & Presentation
The graphics and presentation are a sharp improvement from last year the but the movement of the players can be chunky and slow which leads to poor game-play at times and can be frustrating, however the ball movement, passing and contact in the paint looks very clean.
Gameplay
Gameplay this year is a small upgrade from last year with better animation , smoother game play and a more challenging a.i. There are more game modes this year also, with the ability to play multi-player over blue-tooth , which is an awesome experience it runs really smoothly, association mode and the all new greatest games mode.
Greatest game mode allows you to pick up to 25 different scenario’s from Kobe Bryant’s 81 – point game, Allen Iverson’s 2001 playoff run or Michael Jordans flu game and many more.
These scenario’s and more will get released over the duration of the 2012-2013 season and are an awesome addition to the game.
Wrapping Up
For any NBA fan, $9 is a small price to pay for a some great portable NBA action. whether that be on a bus, in a meeting, or even the convenience for when your on the toilet
VERDICT – 7.5/10
