“Goose” – The Story of Reece Tatum To Premiere On ESPN Australia

On Thursday July 5th @ 9pm, ESPN will present “Goose” – the Story of Reece Tatum.
Tatum, the leader of the Harlem Globetrotters from 1942-1954 was a basketball pioneer and one of the most influential athletes of his time.
His rare combination of basketball and comedic talent transcended the colour barrier of segregated society, making him a household name and one of the highest paid athletes on the planet.
His amazingly talented Globetrotter team took on the best – even beating George Mikan’s champion Minneapolis Lakers team, and along the way invented new moves such as the no-look pass which have become standard skills today.
At the height of his international fame Tatum left the Globetrotters, finding great success as an entrepreneur as well as becoming a champion for free agency in sports – a concept that was groundbreaking at the time.
The documentary features guest interviews with Oscar Robertson, Julius Erving, Jerry West and Bill Cosby and give an insight into a truly remarkable character of the game.
An inspiring story that’s not to be missed.
