Love Breaks Hand Again, T’Wolves Hit Road-Block
News has come out of the Minnesota camp that All-Star Kevin Love has re-fractured the third metacarpal in his right hand. Love will see a hand specialist in New York City this week, and his return to action is pending whether or not the doctor decides surgery is needed.
This comes as a major surprise to all hard-core NBA fans as we were all aware that the X-Ray he had directly after Friday’s game against the Nuggets came up negative, and that the diagnosis was just a sprain. Turns out Love got a second opinion during the week as he still felt real pain in his hand. He went and received an MRI which found the break in his hand. Looks like he’ll be missing a bit of time if he needs surgery again. Bad news for the organisation and their fans.
Love’s recent injury adds to their continuing hospital list as star point guard Ricky Rubio is also currently out with Back Spasms, while Brandon Roy has just come off more surgery for his knees. Turns out Portland’s injury curse may have actually been Brandon Roy. He must be the curse. Portland have been on a good run with injuries since B-Roy’s departure, however now it’s Minnesota’s turn to have their players remain on the sidelines.
Kevin Love’s injury is the same hand he infamously broke before the season while doing knuckle push-ups. Minnesota is currently 15-14 fighting for their first playoff appearance in nine seasons. Already rumored to be an active team before the trade deadline, Love’s injury could have a major impact on whether or not they become sellers or buyers.
Do you see Love leaving Minnesota within the next year or so? Will he stay at Minny for his career? Let us know you’re thoughts on this big issue. We’ll also have more news on the Kevin Love story once he has seen the hand specialist and it is known whether he needs surgery or not. We wish Love a quick recovery and want to see him hit the floor as soon as possible for not just the Wolves sake, but for the entire NBA community.
