2012-13 NBA Foxtel Game Previews: Week 14
This week on ESPN Australia we jump from Texas in the west to Brooklyn and Indiana in the east where the Miami Heat enter a road trip.
BROOKLYN NETS VS MIAMI HEAT
Time & Date: Thursday January 31 from the Barclay’s Center
Coverage: LIVE 12:00pm AEDT (See TV Guide for other games and times)
Brooklyn led by the resurgence of Deron Williams and Joe Johnson will be welcoming the 2012 champs Miami Heat to town.
Their record, 26-18, has been bolstered by the teams play of late as they’ve won 10 of their last 13. Miami however will be a tall order to knock over come Thursday.
LeBron James has been spectacular of late, bordering triple-doubles like his same old self. He’s got them sitting pretty at the top of the Eastern Conference.
Watch For: Dwayne Wade and LeBron
The physical play of Brooklyn in the paint may force James and Wade to take the foot off the gas and revert to their mid range games.
So they’ll need to draw on their own experience and keep driving the lane as only good things will happen.
INDIANA PACERS VS MIAMI HEAT
Time & Date: Saturday February 2 from Bankers Life Fieldhouse Arena
Coverage: LIVE 11:00am AEDT (See TV Guide for other games and times)
An Eastern Conference Semi-Finals rematch is on between the Heat and the Indiana Pacers.
This time it will be without Danny Granger in the contest but the breakout season of Paul George has done more to compensate his loss.
The Pacers home games have been somewhat one way as their record at home 16-3, shows that Miami will be challenged to win in this one.
After being taken to a long scary overtime game against the Toronto Raptors at home, the Heat needed to and did come out all guns blazing the next game to crush the Pistons.
Watch For: Roy Hibbert
Hibbert is going to have all he can eat in the paint. Last year in the playoffs lot’s of people felt he could have exploited his advantage a little more.
Surely Indiana’s coach Frank Vogel will get on his back to make sure the Pacers win the battle down low. That will go a long way to the overall result.
These are the games you can catch on ESPN Australia via Foxtel this week.
Will the big 3 of Miami be too much for the Pacers and Nets to deal with, or will they stand firm on their home courts?
