ATLANTA HAWKS VS MIAMI HEAT
Time & Date: Thursday February 21st from Philips Arena
Coverage: LIVE 12:00pm AEDT (See TV Guide for other games and times)
The Atlanta Hawks come back out for the push towards the playoffs against the red hot LeBron James and the Miami Heat.
There’s plenty of question marks hanging around Atlanta at the moment, who should they trade? Are they capable of making the playoffs?
If a trade were to be made Atlanta would be short handed as this game is just days apart from the trade deadline. The streaking LeBron James has Miami big favourites.
Watch For: Chris Bosh. He had been on a terror heading into the All Star break which made up for a few mediocre weeks.
With double-doubles every night and a sky high field goal percentage like LeBron James he is someone who should be on Atlanta’s minds.
OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER VS MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES
Time & Date: Saturday February 23rd from Chesapeake Arena
Coverage: LIVE 12:00pm AEDT (See TV Guide for other games and times)
Oklahoma City have enjoyed a successful season on the back of their big time stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, it’s been the opposite story for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Thunder and co will be back to their exhilarating best when they’re taking on the T-wolves. This game in the schedule was a wild night last season.
Scores went into the 150′s as there were 3 OT’s and endless clutch baskets from KD and Kevin Love. With no Kevin Love is time around the Western Conference Champions are looking pretty good.
Watch For: Ricky Rubio v Russell Westbrook. Rubio is finding the double digit assists again and has increased his scoring with his shooting percentage.
Russell has got his work cut out on defense but if Rubio isn’t cautious Westbrook could have 5+ steals by the end of the night.
GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS VS SAN ANTONIO SPURS
Time & Date: Saturday February 23rd from Chesapeake Arena
Coverage: LIVE 2:30pm AEDT (See TV Guide for other games and times)
Finishing the second half of their annual Rodeo Road Trip, the San Antonio Spurs have the league’s best record at 42-12.
They’ll be up against a slumping Golden State Warriors outfit that has cooled off after their blistering start to the year.
Golden State are sitting in the middle of the playoffs picture in the west but because of their reliance on the jump shot, they’re streaky and the playoffs are no guarantee for them just yet.
If the Spurs excecute on offense in this one they may dig a hole too deep for the Warriors to climb out of. Plus the Spurs are top 5 in defending the 3 so the Warriors are up against the wall.
Watch For: Stephen Curry. He’s had some time to relax, some 3 point shooting on All Star Saturday Night and should be in a fresh state of mind ready to re state his dominance as a powerful Point Guard.
This also marks the Golden State Warriors debut of their new NBA jerseys with sleeves. If you haven’t seen it yet check them out now.
These are the games you can catch on ESPN Australia via Foxtel this week.
Will these Warriors fend off the criticism from their new jerseys with a strong performance against the Spurs?
