This week on ESPN Australia there are 3 live games to celebrate the holiday season. So kick back and fire up the TV for the upcoming weeks NBA action.

BOSTON CELTICS @ BROOKLYN NETS

Time & Date: Wednesday December 26 from The Barclays Center

Coverage: LIVE 4:00 am AEDT and on replay at 4:00 pm (See TV Guide for other games and times)

Both teams haven’t started out as well as they would have liked to this season. With Boston hovering around .500 and the Nets lacking consistency both have new years resolutions to work on.

Rebounding will be essential for victory as both struggle offensively, the last thing you can let happen are easy second chance points. However if Paul Pierce can stay hot he could blow it out of the water.

Watch For:  Deron Williams.

He’s the leader of this Nets team and how Deron goes the Nets go. He needs to be more efficient from the floor and that will be hard as these 2 defensive juggernauts will fight tooth and nail for all 48 minutes.

LOS ANGELES LAKERS @ DENVER NUGGETS

Time & Date: Thursday December 27 from The Pepsi Center

Coverage: LIVE 1:00 pm AEDT (See TV Guide for other games and times)

The Lakers will look to steady the ship and find some consistency as they take on the high altitude and the Nuggets in Denver.

The Nuggets have been silenced by the Lakers this season, even after the tight 7 game series we had last season in which the Lakers only just prevailed.

Watch For: The Lakers integration of Steve Nash.

With Steve Nash back the Lakers will be heading into new territory as they start to run a Nash-Howard pick and roll. High scores should be on the cards as how do you stop Nash, Bryant and Howard?

CLEVELAND CAVALIERS V ATLANTA HAWKS

Time & Date: Saturday December 29 from Quicken Loans Arena

Coverage: LIVE 11:30 am AEDT (See TV Guide for other games and times)

There appears to be no let up in sight for the struggling Cavaliers as a match up against the Atlanta Hawks looms. With a completely revamped team this season the Hawks have created some team chemistry and are starting to form some partnerships on both ends of the floor.

They are very much flying under the radar as they currently sit 3rd in the Eastern Conference, much better than most thought a post Joe Johnson team was capable of.

While the Cavs, they’re just wanting to have their roster injury free as Kyrie Irving, Anderson Varejao and Dion Waiters have all missed time.

Watch For: Josh Smith and Al Horford.

This is perhaps the best starting front court in the Eastern Conference. Both have a knack for making unbelievable defensive plays and have a well developed offensive game as well. They will take something to stop for the Cavs, especially if Varejao is out.

These are the games you can catch on ESPN Australia via Foxtel throughout the week.

Will the Celtics, Lakers and Heat prevail? Or can the home teams Detroit, Nuggets or Nets go against the grain and win?
