Week 15 Fantasy Football Starts, Sits & Sleepers
For the few of us left fighting for fantasy football glory I hope this weeks Starts, Sits and Sleepers can get you over the line and into that championship game.
Starts
Josh Gordon (WR – Cleveland Browns) has seen both his targets and his receptions rise over the past three weeks with Weeden looking his way often. With a game against the Redskins in week 15 its hard not to see that trend continuing upwards. Eight receptions and 100 yards is a good expectation to have for him.
Danario Alexander (WR – San Diego Chargers) over the past five games is averaging 9 and a half targets, six catches, and just under 100 yards a game. They are great numbers and should again be replicated against the Panthers who are a middle of the pack pass defence. I would expect he will hit his average this week and fingers crossed a touchdown as well.
Josh Freeman (QB – Tampa Bay Bucaneers) has a great opportunity to put up massive fantasy points against the woeful secondary of the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are on average giving up 20 fantasy points a game to opposing Quarterbacks and Freeman should easily reach that average with his ability to scramble as well.
Extra Starts: Reggie Bush (MIA), Matt Schaub (HOU), Steve Smith (CAR), Chris Johnson (TEN), Vincent Jackson (TB)
Sits
Alex Green (RB – Green Bay Packers) is not all of sudden going to become Adrian Peterson and while yes the Bears defence is pretty knocked up with injuries they are still a top ranked run defence who will stop the run first. Green will be lucky to reach 50 yards in the game.
Vick Ballard (RB - Indianapolis Colts) is a good up and coming player for the Colts but a week 15 match up against the Texans does not bode well for the rookie. The Texans are coming off an unexpected blow out loss and will be looking for revenge and I think Ballard will be the one to see the brunt of it. Best to sit him this week with a finals berth on the line.
Brandon Lloyd (WR – New England Patriots) finally had a huge game but don’t expect this to carry on to this weeks game. The 49ers secondary are second best in the league allowing 15.2 fantasy points to wide receivers and Lloyd is a bit banged up and has not been thrown to much this season. He’s another player who is best to sit this week.
Extra Sits: CJ Spiller (BUF), Steven Ridley (NE), Kenny Britt (TEN), Stevie Johnson (BUF), Torrey Smith (BAL)
Sleepers
Bilal Powell (RB – New York Jets) has a chance as the number two running back for the Jets to really make a name for himself in fantasy circle with the Jets turning to running the ball 40 times a game. Powell looks to be splitting carries evenly with Shonn Green and both should see plenty of touches. Powell is a good sleeper play if you need a plug in at RB2 or flex this week.
If you have any questions about your fantasy line-up, let me know in the comments below, otherwise the best of luck to you all!
