Storylines to Watch Out For in Week 10
Playoff pictures are beginning to form as we round the corner into Week 10. Plenty of big news to watch out for, read on!
Will Doug Martin stay at this level?
251 Yards and 4 Touchdowns is a pretty hard task to pull of once, let alone two weeks in a row.
Now nobody expects Buccaneers Running Back Doug Martin to perform quite as well as last week’s game against the Chargers in Week 10, but Martin now has earned his fair share of attention and expectations are high for him. The Chargers defence will be preparing to defend a big run game from the Buccaneers now Martin has shown just how productive he can be and the pass game of the Buc’s remains far from elite.
How will Martin perform against a side that will no doubt be throwing everything at him?
How will the Vikings go without Harvin?
The Vikings this week face up against a Lions defence that has a very solid front 7, but is gutted by injuries in it’s secondary, this means (assuming the front 7 plays to expectations) that the Vikings plan initially would have at some stage involved taking advantage of the horrid secondary of the Lions. This would mean using dynamic Receiver Percy Harvin, the Vikings only real threat on the pass game (granted Jerome Simpson is a solid performer in his own right, but he’s far from replacing Harvin).
But with Harvin looking doubtful for this weeks game due to an ankle injury, how will the Vikings get any threatening pass game going? There is only so much Running Back Adrian Peterson can be sent into the path of a strong Lions front 7 before he risks becoming borderline ineffective, so it will be a necessity for the Vikings to get a pass game going if they want to be an offensive threat. But will they be able to without the star receiver?
Can the Jags beat the Colts (or anyone)?
The only win the Jaguars have had this season was against a Colts team in Week 3 that was still finding its feet with new QB Andrew Luck. Since then the Jaguars season has been about as successful as
But having beaten them before, it shows that the Jags obviously know there are ways to beat the Colts, the question is now that Andrew Luck has really stepped up his game, will the Jags be able to pull off a win like we saw in week 3? Andrew Luck has really stepped up and proven why he was the number one draft pick (exhibit a: Luck beating the record for number of yards thrown by a rookie in Week 9 against the Dolphins) where as just about everything about the Jags seems to be on the decline.
So can the Jags do it?
Everything about the Texans vs Bears game.
When I say everything I really do mean it. There is not a single facet of this game that is not worth paying attention to. But arguably the most important thing to watch for is who will come out 8-1. Both these teams are hot on the heels of the undefeated Falcons (both currently on 7-1) but of course, only one team can come away with the win. Who is it going to be? Leave a comment with your prediction!
What will you be looking out for in this week’s games?
