Week 13 is on the way, and there are some cracking match-ups being shown on One HD this week. We’ve got overachievers, tight matchups, divisional rivalries, and more passing yards than you can poke a stick at.

New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins

When and where: Monday December 3, Sun Life Stadium.

Coverage: LIVE One HD, 5:00 AM EDST

The Miami Dolphins (5-6) will have their work cut out for them when they host one of the league’s hottest teams in recent weeks, the New England Patriots (8-3).

New England have been seriously impressive in their last 5 games, winning by a collective total of 219-107 (with an average of 43.8 points per game). Over that span, QB Tom Brady has been posting MVP quality numbers, with 1454 yards, 14 TDs, and zero INTs.

After a 4-3 start, Miami have struggled over recent weeks, however were able to get up over a tough Seattle Seahawks unit last game. RB Reggie Bush has faded somewhat after an explosive start to the season, but played well last week, and rookie QB Ryan Tannehill will need Bush to keep playing well as he deals with his own inconsistencies.

Watch out for: Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez will be playing in his second game back after recovering from an ankle injury, and after readjusting to the game against the Jets last week, I can see Brady hooking up with him for some big plays.

Final word and prediction: The Dolphins have a lot of potential, but the Patriots are firing on all cylinders at the moment, and even on the road, it would be a tough task to stop them. Patriots win 31-17.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Denver Broncos

When and where: Monday December 3rd, Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

Coverage: LIVE One HD, 8:15 AM EDST

Tampa Bay (6-5) have looked like a legitimate playoff contender recently, but face a tough task traveling to Denver to take on the Broncos (8-3)

With the emergence of rookie RB Doug Martin and elevated play from QB Josh Freeman, the Buccaneers have been consistently playing a high level of football. Their only loss over the past 5 weeks was last week, in a 24-23 nail biter against the Atlanta Falcons, a team labelled as a very strong Super Bowl contender.

Are you sure Peyton Manning missed all of last season? You wouldn’t know it, with the QB averaging 293 yards and 2.5TDs per game over their last six games, all of which the Broncos have won. It’s not all due to Peyton though; the defence is ranked in the top 10 in most statistical categories, most notably at 4th for yards allowed with an average of 308.4 per game on the season.

Who could break out? Despite two Touchdowns, Buccaneers RB Doug Martin was limited to just 50 yards on 21 carries (2.4 yards per carry) last week against the Falcons. The Broncos have a highly ranked run defence, however it’s hard to keep a good back down, and I think Martin will be able to break a few runs for big gains.

Final word and prediction: I rate the Buccaneers quite highly, but there’s no denying the Broncos form. While I think this will be a close game, I see the Broncos coming out on top. Broncos win 24-21.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys

When and where: Monday December 3, Cowboys Stadium.

Coverage: LIVE One HD, 12:20 PM EDST

It’s one of the NFL’s biggest rivalries in Primetime this week, with the Philadelphia Eagles (4-7) heading to big D to take on the Dallas Cowboys (5-6). Certainly, before the season there were expected to playoff implications heading into this ‘Sunday Night Football’ encounter, and while both teams have been somewhat underwhelming, it remains a tough divisional matchup.

The 2010 preseason ‘Dream Team’ has been anything but, coming into this game on the heels of a seven game losing streak. Rookie QB Nick Foles has been thrust into the starting role in the past 2 games, and has struggled mightily, no thanks to a very patchy offensive line unit. The defence has also had its troubles, giving up an average of 31.7 points per game over their last five games.

Dallas have consistently been hanging around the .500 mark, however haven’t quite been able to get over the hump and get wins against good opponents. Despite lots of criticism, QB Tony Romo has been playing quite well overall, and Dallas find themselves held back by an average defence, and the league’s worst running game in the absence of DeMarco Murray.

Who could break out? Cowboys LB Demarcus Ware won’t be happy with the fact he has a total of 1 sack over the last three games. Against a very weak Eagles Offensive Line, I expect him to terrorize Nick Foles in the offensive backfield, and put up a multi-sack performance.

Final word and prediction: While the Cowboys have their woes, the Eagles have been terrible, opening the door to a big display from Dallas, who will want to prove on national television that they are still a good team. Cowboys win 27-17.

There you have it, plenty of NFL action to kick start your week. Let us know which matchups you’re most looking forward to.
